Electronica 2014

We had a blast at Electronica 2014! While most of us thought that we would spend the majority of our time meeting with the many companies that we collaborate with, one of the surprising highlights of having our own booth this year was being able to engage with our users.

We had the pleasure of meeting hundreds of you, from long time users to attendees who thought we sounded familiar but had never used our site. It was wonderful to meet the people who visit the site every day, and we were thrilled that so many people that we intercepted were excited to try Octopart out. We got a ton of feedback from seasoned users and great questions from new users.

We also got to meet with some of our distributor and manufacturer partners, and to introduce ourselves to some new companies. It was great to speak with people in the industry from all over the world to see what people need when searching for parts, and what kind of data they look for. We also got some impromptu soccer games in with our booth neighbors!

In general, my favorite part was spreading the word about our new BOM tool, which all of you seemed very excited about. Usually this was the feature that turned people from “This site looks cool” to “I’ll definitely try this out, that looks great.” Be sure to try it out, and let us know if you like it. Meeting you really made our trip to Münich worth it, and we hope we’re helping a few more of you find access to part data!
