New Octopart Search Feature: Add Parts to BOM Tool

Good news! You can now add components that you search for on Octopart to a new or saved BOM in our BOM Tool. There are a couple of ways you can do this. The first is straight from your search on Octopart — in your search results, click on the shiny new "Add to BOM" button on the upper right of each result:

Then, you'll see a drop down menu. If you've logged in and saved a BOM before, you'll have the option to save that part to one of your existing BOMs. You can also select "New BOM" to create and save a new BOM with this part.

You can also add parts to the Octopart BOM tool from the detail page of an individual part. After you click on the part you need, you'll see more details like datasheets, specs, price alerts, and price history. Now, you'll also see a new "Add to BOM" button at the top of the page:

Clicking on that will reveal your list of saved BOMs you can add the part to if you have them, and the option to create a new BOM:
