Creating a new PCB project in Altium Designer can be quite a bit of work, especially if you want all the bells and whistles on it. The same goes for the production of CAM data at the end of the project.

In this presentation, Casper dives deep into this matter and explores several strategies for setting up a coherent system of templates, libraries, design rules, output jobs, etc. that will help you jump start new designs and race to production. He will reveal his personal tricks of the trade in setting up Altium Designer and give guidance to how this can work for your organization.

About Author

Casper van Doorne is an independent electronics expert with 20+ years of experience in the development of electronics. With his company Doofenshmirtz Evil Inc. he delivers consultancy, interim management and development of electronics. Among his customers are Altium, Applicos, Becton Dickinson, Stoneridge Orlaco, TIMIO and Tricas Industrial Design & Engineering.
In 1997, Casper received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Electrical Engineering with honors from the Hogeschool Saxion Enschede. Since then, he has designed mixed signal systems for automated test & assembly equipment at NXP Semiconductors and high-bandwidth AS5643 and IEEE1394 analyzer systems at DAP Technology.
Early 2016, Casper founded Doofenshmirtz Evil Inc. to pursue his career independently. Though being an electronics developer at heart, he has a broad interest for everything that surrounds the development and production of electronics. This reflects in his work, where anything from toys to advisory reports, alongside PCB design are just another day at the office.
