Octopart Accounts Transition to Altium Identity

At Octopart (an Altium Ltd subsidiary), we are committed to enhancing your experience by making it simpler, safer, and more connected. With this in mind, we’re excited to announce an important update: all Octopart accounts will be transitioning to Altium Identity starting February 20th. This change will strengthen your account security and provide new opportunities for seamless integration with the broader Altium ecosystem.

Here’s everything you need to know about the transition and how it will affect you as an Octopart user.

Why Are We Migrating to Altium Identity?

The migration to Altium Identity is driven by our commitment to strengthen your account security and improve your overall experience. Altium Identity is a secure identity service that simplifies access to various Altium products, including Altium Designer, Valispace, and Altium 365. With this change, you'll benefit from a single, secure login across all Altium services, making accessing the tools you already use or might want to explore more straightforward. The system includes features like Single Sign-On (SSO) and the option to sign in with Google or Facebook, providing better data protection and fewer password issues. This change protects your information and simplifies your interactions with Altium.

What to Expect?

On February 20th, 2025, Altium Identity will become Octopart's new login system.  Users who continue to use legacy credentials cannot access their data—such as saved BOMs, downloaded CAD models, or watchlists—until they migrate to Altium Identity.

By the end of the year, the legacy sign-in option will be removed, and all users must switch to Altium Identity to access their accounts. Users who have not migrated can no longer log in with their legacy credentials.

Our Commitment to Privacy

While we enhance security and update account management, our commitment to your privacy remains steadfast. Protecting your personal information has always been a top priority, and we will continue to handle your data responsibly and transparently.
