In this workshop, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the BOM Portal; its key features, functionalities, and how to leverage it to get the most out of your Bill of Materials (BOM). Learn how to streamline procurement workflows by accessing enriched, real-time part information that enables faster, more informed, and more efficient decision-making for parts procurement and board production. We will guide you through the process of uploading a basic BOM and progressing to the creation of a Managed BOM directly from a design in Altium 365. You will also discover how to bridge the gap between design and procurement teams, improve BOM quality, and help your design team select components that align better with your organization’s standards and supply chain goals.
Agenda:
- Upload a pre-existing BOM to BOM Portal
- Review key areas within BOM Portal as well as how this information is sourced
- Manage these key areas to intelligently review data around manufacturability, supply chain and compliance
- Review BOM settings options for managing the data provided
- Use provided information to make procurement decisions
- Create a new Managed BOM from an existing Altium 365 design
- Find and select alternate parts to be used
- Communicate necessary information across design teams for recommended changes and comparisons between BOM Portal and Altium Designer
