Welcome to the Electronic Design to Delivery Index

The Spectra Electronic Design to Delivery Index (EDDI) is designed to function as a finger on the pulse of the electronics industry. By providing data on the electronic assembly realization process - from PCB design to sourcing and delivery - the EDDI gives analysts and professionals a broad view of electronics industry activity.

Insights from this month:

  • The Industry Supply Index decreased by 4 points this month totaling 156 points. This is the first decline in the ISI in over 24 months.
  • The largest supply index decline was seen in Connectors with a 10 point (6.2%) drop, totaling 151 points. This is the first double-digit decline in this category supply index since April 2022.
  • The Industry Demand Index increased overall by 4 points (3.3%) this month to a total of 124 points. This is the 3rd month of a lift after the last index value low reported in April 2023 at 106 points.
  • The largest demand index lift reported was in Passive Components with 8 points (8%) for a total index value of 108 points. This is a notable shift in direction for this index from the last low of 82 points in April 2023.

Key Takeaways:

  • The EDDI Demand Index continues to rise indicating that online sourcing remains challenging, and is likely getting more difficult. This is coupled with indications that component sourcing activities are moving offline and back to in-person.
