Summary:
This video demonstrates how to move a project and it’s components to Altium 365. To begin, open a project in Altium Designer and connect Altium Designer to Altium 365. Select make project available online in the menu, verify the new location, and select okay.
Open to web browser and verify that the project appears. The components are not yet transitioned into Altium 365. To connect them, create an integrated library using import libraries. Lastly, update the whole design by running the item manager and auto matching the project components before saving the project to the server.

Moving Altium design data, including the components to Altium 365 is easy. To get this started, to open your design in Altium Designer and make sure that Altium Designer is connected to your Altium 365 Workspace. Then you can choose make project available online from the menu, set the name, check where it’ll end up and click okay. This will push that design into Altium 365.
00:00:33:04 - 00:00:45:04
All right, so the design is now in Altium 365. We can check it in a web browser to see that it appears.
00:00:45:06 - 00:01:04:14
But the components are not in Altium 365 yet. They are still referencing the old library structure. So we could make a component library of all the components in this design using design, make integrated library.
00:01:05:00 - 00:01:14:06
This collects all the schematic symbols and all the footprints and put it in one project library.
00:01:14:07 - 00:02:32:14
Here it is, compiled libraries, and we can move this into Altium 365 using import library. Library import has a quick solution, or we can click advanced to make more settings and more configuration. For now we will just import.
00:02:33:00 - 00:03:00:03
All the components are now imported. So when we check the components panel, we can see all the components that we just brought in with all the parameters that were in the source libraries. And also with part choices for the manufacturer part numbers I found. All right, now when we check the design, and we check the microcontroller, we can see that it's still referencing the old library.
00:03:00:04 - 00:03:37:12
To update this for the whole design, we can run the item manager under the tools, item manager. It has some options for the auto matching. It says the component name is coming from command, and these matching rules are automatically made by the library importer. Or you could configure this yourself. For now I can click auto match. I know to use the matching rules to find the equivalent components in Altium 365, and we can run the engineering change order.
00:03:37:14 - 00:03:44:14
All the components are now sourced from Altium 365.
00:03:45:00 - 00:03:56:03
With all the information available and after a save to server.
00:03:56:04 - 00:04:24:14
With a useful command. The design and its component library now is in Altium 365, and I can collaborate with my team working on the design, adding components, placing a new resistor if needed on the design. All right, so that's how easy it is to move to Altium 365. Thanks for watching.
