BOM Portal Supplier Data Export

Created: October 15, 2025

Summary:

Altium 365 Bom Portal allows you to upload or create a Bill of Materials for an existing managed design.  It can also export an Excel BOM that contains the data from multiple suppliers, including prices.

To begin, create a BOM document, and display some favored suppliers for a part.  Next, open Excel and create a BOM template using the demonstrated special column queries, before saving and uploading the file into the BOM Portal in Altium Designer.   Finally, refresh the page and download the file to view the prices easily for the chosen suppliers and data.

In Altium 365 BOM Portal you can upload your custom BOM, or you can create a BOM of a running project. Let's create a managed BOM.

00:00:17:09 - 00:00:40:12
This creates a BOM document that is living in the cloud, and it's connected to all the components that you store in your Altium 365 Workspace. It brings along all the advantages for the where used and for the information from Octopart or the other part suppliers about the components, stock, the lifecycle, and you can work with these.

00:00:40:13 - 00:01:06:09
One thing that BOM Portal doesn't automatically have is a way to show all the prices of all the suppliers in an overview that you can export. So for parts you can see, this part: DigiKey, Arrow, Arrow, Mouser, Newark are my enabled suppliers and the pricing. But if I want to export it, I can display it in one column.

00:01:06:10 - 00:01:34:13
I do have a way to create it so I can check out my favorite suppliers and I have Mouser, DigiKey for now. Right then, maybe I want to display these three favorite suppliers on an export. I can do that. I can start Excel and make a BOM Template. A BOM Template is created using

00:01:34:14 - 00:02:02:06
special column queries and you say column should be the design item ID, it should be the description, should be the quantity. It's what's needed on a BOM. I probably need a column for that manufacturer. Right, so what is the manufacturer name and the manufacturer part number. I will add some columns for a few suppliers. There's a special syntax for that.

00:02:02:07 - 00:02:23:07
First I need a column. It will be Mouser, and then Mouser part, it's part number, Mouser, and it's unit price, Mouser, and the stock at Mouser for this part. Same for the DigiKey part number unit price. I will save this.

00:02:23:08 - 00:02:34:07
Come back, save. Put it in my documents and it will be

00:02:34:08 - 00:02:38:02
called Multi Supplier.

00:02:38:03 - 00:03:17:04
All right, so let's keep it very simple. To upload my document, I need to use Altium Designer. So I will switch to Altium Designer and go to Preferences> Data Management>Templates, and here I can upload the Bill of Material Template. It is in documents>Multi Supplier, and it has been uploaded, Multi Supplier. All right, I can return to my workspace and refresh the page.

00:03:17:05 - 00:03:38:02
Go to the download section and you can see I can download what I currently have in view here. I can download the BOM for DigiKey, or now for Mouser, or I can use one of the templates. So a few of the templates that I have available in my workspace or Multi Supplier, I just upload it.

00:03:38:03 - 00:04:06:03
Check it out, and you can see that it holds the design item ID, the description, the quantity, manufacturer, and for this manufacturer, well the mouser part number, the mouser unit costs, the mouser stock, DigiKey, and I can extend this for as many favorite suppliers as I have enabled. So this is a way that you can export

00:04:06:04 - 00:04:16:02
well, one Excel sheet from BOM Portal with pricing of multiple suppliers in one. Okay. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Bye bye.
