Product Design Features in
Altium Designer 23
When you work on a product, you don’t just build boards. PCB designers have to work as part of a team to bring advanced products to market. The newest set of features in the upcoming release of Altium Designer 23 focuses on product design, spanning from ECAD to MCAD in multi-board systems with harnesses.

New harness design tools - It is now possible to develop full wiring harness designs from logical connectivity right through to physical layout and manufacturing drawings and documentation. These wiring harnesses can be developed as standalone projects, or integrated into a multi-board project as part of a higher-level system design.

Multi-board in MCAD - The MCAD CoDesigner extension can now synchronize multi-board PCB assemblies between ECAD and MCAD. Users can perform layout and collision checks, and simulate multi-board assemblies with copper in 3D models, all without file exchanges.

View multi-board projects on the web - Use Altium’s online Viewer application to review your multi-board designs online. Users can share projects, comment, and collaborate on complex multi-board projects.
We’ll continue to update users on these new capabilities as the release date approaches, and be sure to check the What’s New page to learn about all the latest updates to Altium Designer. When you’re ready to upgrade, navigate to the Updates page from the Extensions and Updates window to install the latest version.
