What’s New in
Altium Designer?
The newest enhancements in Altium Designer 22.9 include design reuse updates, a variant update, and a new feature in the footprint editor:
Variant improvement in schematics - AD22.9 brings even more improvements to variant creation and management. New tools help streamline creation and management of design variants.
Add comments to your BOM - The Comments feature can now be used in .BomDoc files. Overcome your sourcing and component selection challenges with AD 22.9.
Layout variants in Reuse Blocks - Reusable blocks can now contain multiple variants of a PCB layout. A PCB layout variant can be selected while placing a reusable block in a schematic sheet.
Update your copy of AD22 to the newest version to get access to these new features and much more. Navigate to the Updates page from the Extensions and Updates window to access the newest productivity features in Altium Designer.
ADC grounding can be confusing thanks to the use of odd pin naming schemes and outdated guidelines about separating ground planes. Zach cuts through the noise and gives a complete view on grounding with ADCs.
Wheatstone bridges are great circuits for taking precise measurements in analog systems, and there are many varieties of these circuits. Come see how these circuits are constructed in this article.
Ethernet involves more than just a simple type of differential pair. The variations of media-independent interface (MII) links help designers pair up components in a system with Ethernet.
Hatched ground planes often make an appearance in flex PCBs. Are they useful in other areas? Zach breaks down these structures and how they impact your design.
