Workspace General Settings

Created: November 20, 2025

Summary:

This video demonstrates some of the general settings within the Admin Section of a user's workspace.  It also contains general information on topics such as the workspace, name, description, URL, and server location.

The video begins by renaming the workspace, adding a description, and viewing the server location for the workspace data and the URL.  Once changes are made, users are instructed to log out and log back into the workspace to view those changes. Afterwards, the workspace name is changed to eliminate confusion between multiple workspaces.

Hi. In this video, we'll take a look at the general settings within the admin section of your workspace. This information is handy to know and manage for a couple of different scenarios that we'll walk through. It also contains the general information such as workspace, name, description, URL, and server location, or where the workspace data is stored.

00:00:24:16 - 00:00:50:14
So let's take a look. First thing I'd like you to note is I am a member of a few different workspaces. So in one scenario where this information may become handy in making sure that I manage it accordingly is by making sure that I properly name the workspace, giving it a good name along with a good description. That way, as I'm navigating through different workspaces that I may be a member of, it's easier to identify those specific workspaces and make sure I'm in the proper one

00:00:50:14 - 00:01:19:20
as I'm working. So first let's click on Admin. Then under the Settings Section we'll click on General. As you can see here, this is where we would manage the workspace name, description, what server location or where the data is stored, as well as the URL for this specific workspace. All information is able to be modified with the exception of the server location, as that data is stored and managed within a specific region.

00:01:19:23 - 00:01:45:10
So first you'll notice the company has a general name for this specific workspace, along with a generic description of a company. Now, as I have multiple workspaces, maybe within this one organization or as multiple members of multiple organizations, I may need to clean this up. So for this specific scenario, I'm going to change this from child company to child company production workspace.

00:01:45:12 - 00:02:16:18
So this will now become data that was only released or managed in accordance to having actual live production designs in production and use. I'll give it a generic description of production data and projects used for release. Now you can also modify the URL. However, there are a couple caveats. One are the notes that it's making here for you.

00:02:16:21 - 00:02:37:03
Users must relog in to work correctly once this change is made. Any users currently logged in will be dropped or disconnected. The old domain, such as the dash nine, would be available for a short period of time. But you may not want to continue to use it. So that anything that's linked to that specific URL may need to be updated.

00:02:37:06 - 00:03:02:09
So it's just a note that this is information you may need to be aware of if you do decide to make this change. I'm going to go ahead and leave that alone, and I must save the information. Now, once that saved, I'm going to do a quick log out, log back in and that way it'll actually show the new workspace name.

00:03:02:12 - 00:03:20:23
I have logged out. I'll log back in, and confirm that that information has, in fact, been updated for the specific workspace. As you can see, child company Production Workspace is now the new name.

00:03:20:25 - 00:03:45:17
Once again we'll go to Admin>Settings>General. Confirm all the information has been saved. Now another reason that this is important is that if I were to go to my company dashboard, not only would I be able to go to my workspaces, I would also be able to see that the new workspace name has been applied along with the general description,

00:03:45:19 - 00:04:10:04
if I'm in my dashboard reviewing the different workspaces that I'm a member of. You'll see that I have another dashboard up here, or another workspace up here. If I wanted to change it, I can go here, and let's make this my sandbox workspace. So I’m going to log in to this specific workspace, again go to Admin>under Settings>select General,

00:04:10:06 - 00:04:30:21
and now this is now going to be my trial company sandbox workspace. This is where I would do all the testing, trying, and creating the components. Anything that I wanted to make sure and test prior to going to actual production.

00:04:30:23 - 00:04:43:17
Then, once again, save. Then I would log out and back in to confirm that that information has in fact been updated. I hope this is helpful. Feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions.
